Did Eve Love God –Enough to overcome?
Or, perhaps better said, did she believe God loved her –Enough to Trust God & Obey? Why did Adam and Eve make that horrible choice –and how can we learn from this drastic mistake, so that we can choose life and blessings? I don’t believe that we are really that different than Adam and Eve, but we do have a greater gift of understanding than they did –we have the Bible (their history to learn from & we have God’s gift of the Holy Spirit to guide us in the truth) …
We have Jesus –But we must still seek the Truth from God in Christ to walk that straight and narrow blessed life!
Learning from history and living at the foot of the Cross …
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).”
I am sure many will say that Adam and Eve loved and respected God most of the time, but when they were tempted with more, did they really love God –according to the LOVE God first loved them –With all their heart, soul, mind, strength?
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” –with the same love that God had first showed us!
Mark 12:30 & 1 John 4:19
What about us in this Today –in this wonderfully Created day that God has called Today, as long as it is Today –Do we love God? Or, do we love the idea of God and pursue the things in this world more than we pursue God?
What was Eve pursuing –what was Adam? Were they seeking / pursuing Peace with God in His pureness and goodness –or were they pursuing selfish ambition?
Learning to live in Peace with God from Adam and Eve’s disobedience (sin) (lack of faith) (misplaced love and attention)…God’s Word also, commands us to do something –live FREE in Jesus (the TRUTH) and resist temptation (the manipulated & deceptive version of the facts), by loving God with all that we are!
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it (Psalm 34:14) –Just as God warned Adam and Eve, God warns us Today too … For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice (James 3:16).
We are CALLED TO TRUST GOD –and we are enabled to trust God when we first KNOW His love for us! Do you believe John 3:16? Do you know that John 3:17 is also the truth? Do you know that God hand designed you? –just as he made Adam and Eve!
I encourage you to pick up God’s Word Today and read to learn and understand just how patient and kind God is to us each and every day! God loves us and He simply wants us to get to know Him and His character –a part of falling in love with who God IS … enough to trust and obey!
You (we) are wonderfully and fearfully made by God for a purpose! God wanted children to love –and God loves you! Yet, God in His love wants you to love Him because you love HIM –not because you have to –God wants the real deal from you! God wants you to love HIM, because He first loved you. Then we can trust God with all our heart, soul, mind, strength!
We are equipped in Jesus Christ to live free in God’s grace by the power of the Holy Spirit –if we will only choose to succeed to God’s divine plan and let go of our self and let God do His miraculous work! God is pure love and peace with Wisdom to guide us along our path in the way of Jesus Christ!
