The legislation that would put same-sex “marriage” on the New Mexico ballot will be heard tomorrow, Thursday, February 21, by the House Voters and Elections Committee. The committee is scheduled to meet at 8:00 a.m. in Room 317 at the Round House.
It is important that the Committee hear from the Christian community on this issue. The ACLU has lobbies heavily for same-sex “marriage,” sending staff and recruiting homosexuals to testify in these hearings.

The procedure is, once the legislation is presented, to ask for a show of hands of the number of people in support of same-sex “marriage” and those opposed. Please note that even though the majority of New Mexicans opposed “gay marriage,” we are always in the minority in these committee meetings. Your attendance at this hearing would be greatly appreciated.

The legislation is titled HJR 3 SAME-SEX MARRIAGE LICENSES sponsored by Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe).
Please pray for these proceedings and attend if it is at all possible. Also, contacting the legislators is a vital part of the process. A handwritten note is best but phone calls and emails are very important. The members of the Committee are as follows:
