Boy Scouts Pressured on Homosexuality

In January 2011, Barack Obama famously said, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”  That appears to be the situation in today’s Boy Scouts of America crisis.
scoutingThe last-minute Christian response to the Boy Scouts of America National Executive Board’s pending decision to allow homosexuals into leadership positions was a barrage of phone calls, emails, a 20,000 signature on-line petition and an ad in USA Today.
In contrast, the homosexual community has successfully persuaded corporate donors to stop supporting the Boy Scouts of America and delivered a petition with 1.4 million signatures to the National Headquarters.
Mr. Randall Stephenson is a good example of corporate manipulation.  Mr. Stephenson is chairman of AT&T.  Through AT&T’s charitable arm, Mr. Stephenson is capable of writing or withholding $10 million in contributions.  Mr. Stephenson, a National Executive Board member, has stated that he is for allowing homosexuals into leadership positions in the Boy Scouts.
The Boy Scout’s National Executive Board last week turned over the final decision and responsibility to the 14,000 member National Council, which meets in May 2013.
The goal of the Boy Scouts for the past 112 year has been to train boys to be persons of character and responsibility.  The founder of the Boy Scouts,  Sir Robert Baden-Powell, said,  “Scouting is nothing less than applied Christianity.”
All this comes on the heels of a court-ordered 14,000 page “Perversion Report.” Released last October, 12,000 cases of sexual abuse covering a 20-year period, from 1965 to 1985, were revealed.  The homosexual effort now being considered will bring more of the same.
Pray for the Boy Scouts of America and speak to everyone you know.  Let them know that the Boy Scouts of American as currently constituted reflects our morality and needs to stay that way.
Yours in Christ,
