Steen MinnesotaHearts and prayers go out to the family of Andrea Boeve, killed yesterday while on a bike ride with her little girls. She was riding on Hwy 270 north of Steen legally with bicycle trailer in tow (with flow of traffic) as she was struck from behind by a truck driven by a young Brandon, SD man, who has now been charged with vehicular homicide for operating a vehicle while being distracted by an electronic communication device. Both girls were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. To her husband Matt, and her daughters, we would like to extend our deepest sympathies on your loss of Andrea. Another reason to please, PLEASE put your phones down while driving. That seemingly empty country road is not a good time to check on a text, or a Twitter update. It just cost one young nurse her life, a husband his wife, and two young girls their mom.

One of her friends reacted with this: "Our hearts are so very heavy tonight with the loss of our dear friend Andrea. Our minds can't comprehend it and our hearts can't handle the pain. Tears are abundant today and we ask that you lift up Matt and his girls with a special prayer for strength and healing. Pray for their families and friends and first responders. When words fail... Just love them and pray for them."
