West Virginia Mayor’s Plea for Prayer Goes Viral
I pray that more Mayor’s, like Albuquerque Mayor Berry and City Council members call on the Lord and have a city wide month of prayer!
I also pray that New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez do the same for the state.
Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico are suffering from an epidemic of violent crime led my gangs and drug addiction. Violent crime, murder, shootings, and drug abuse have no zip code. I have witnessed to much of this in Albuquerque and New Mexico.
It seems in recent weeks in Albuquerque we have a shooting, stabbing or death almost everyday, this is the latest tragedy: Police: Father stabbed to death by man who took child dlvr.it/6nK5pn
Meanwhile Huntington, West Virginia Mayor Steve Williams sent a video out to church leaders, asking them to join together Sept. 7 at 11:05 a.m. to pray for their city.
Williams said drug addiction is taking his city down, as it is taking down places like Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico, but the “Chamber of Commerce” mind set will not face the evil.
The mayor said, “I’ve come to understand and experience how powerful prayer can be, personally in my life and certainly what I’ve observed within my administration and how we’re going about doing business.”
He asked the churches to pray for three things:
1. Healing and recovery of those fighting substance abuse,
2. The protection of law enforcement officers as they protect the community during the drug war, and
3. The drug dealers to be delivered from a life of crime.
Let us all join in and pray with the Mayor! In Jesus name, Amen!!!
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
More laws, more police, more legislation and Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau hype all that political “nothing noise” will not change hearts, only Jesus Christ can do that, Jesus Christ is the only answer.
