The Lord awoke me at 3am this day to write this letter to you………..

As many of you who frequent FGGAM.ORG or Dewey’s Daily CUP, you know Sharon and I love dogs. I have learned so very much from them over the years. In fact Sharon and I  have begun to write a book on what we have learned from Brownie, Buffy and Reno.  Brownie passed away a few years ago at age 18. Buffy has been with us 14 years and survived cancer 3 years ago, we found out yesterday that she now has cancer in her foot. Reno just went through cancer surgery in January. Both Buffy and Reno help me minister to many people. They have helped me bring people back to Jesus. They travel with me many days. Today Sharon and I ask for your prayers of healing for Buffy and Reno. Buffy is going to have one of her toes removed as to where the cancer is. One of my best friends, Rick Stambaugh who writes for us here at FGGAM has stage 4 cancer and is having a tough time of it with severe pain. Rick will tell you that Buffy and Reno helped bring him back to Jesus Christ because of the love they showed to him. I told Rick that the love shown to us through God’s creation is ust a glimpse of the love Jesus Christ has for us. God uses his creation to give us a taste of the love he has for us, even if we don’t pick up on it in our busy lives, He put’s it all out there for us! That’s the thing about our God, He put’s it all out there for us, in the Bible and His 3,500 promises and His creation, sadly too many are blind to His greatness. Buffy and Reno and so many ministry Dogs across the world help bring the love of Jesus Christ visible to the world.

Brownie, Buffy, Reno and all dogs have helped show me true love and loyalty,  so much of our world is filled with false teachings and ‘nothing noise’. Living in a world where like yesterday, man kill’s 10 year old girl and teen kills 12 year old boy.

I also want to mention about my friend Rick, when he found out that he had cancer shortly after coming back to Jesus Christ, he did not get mad. Rick has become a strong man of God even in his extreme pain. He has taught me much about pain. he has taught me much about God. This is a man who fought for his country in Vietnam and his Navy helicopter was shot down and since then he has had back problems along with other health challenges, but the man holds no anger toward anybody or anything. I had Rick give his testimony a few months back at the Reserve, NM Baptist Church. The folks were so touched by his words! Rick also loves dogs, so we have a lot in common! Even in his pain, Rick checks in on how his ‘babies’ as he calls them, Buffy and Reno are doing.

The pictures below are of Buffy and Reno, them giving love to Rick Stambaugh and then Rick and Reno

This morning please join us and pray for all who have cancer. FGGAM is surrounded by so many people right now who have cancer. My cousin Darry Hanson back in Minnesota has brain cancer. Darry has gone through more than one surgery to remove tumors in his brain. We pray healing over all who have this dreaded disease that is not of God. I am weeping this morning as I write this for all those hurting.

Proverbs 17:22

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Psalm 103:3

Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,

Exodus 23:25

You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Psalm 107:20

He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.

Psalm 103:2-4

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

Here are 20 essential facts dog lovers must always remember. The last one made me cry so much.

  1. Tears literally rolling down my cheeks Pastor. I am so very, very sorry…

I’m no hero, but those “babies” sure are…

We are obviously under heavy attack; many, many prayers going out this morning!!!

Be as strong for them as they are for us!!!

  2. Dewey,

Just found how to reconnect with you. We LOVE our dog, Tink, and I know how much it hurts when they hurt. Our previous dog, Oliver, lived to be 17, and my husband is sure Tink will as well.

Blessings to you for sharing your heart. And to your friend who has cancer. Lots of sadness everyday. Without the Lord, life would be very difficult to get through some days.

    Blessings to you,

    Linda B
