This report from Pastor Leonard Navarre of Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood, NM was filed yesterday, he is on his 6th mission trip to India.: Today’s India adventure: we had a church service with some villagers in the Darjeeling area. Afterward, 5 people were baptized. One woman came up out of the water and washed her Hindu “red forehead dot” off with her hand. That is SUCH abig deal because the challenge here is to educate new believers that God is the One True God and not just in addition to the 30+ million gods they already worship (yes, that was MILLION). My heart broke as we left that village and drove past the “red light district” where women stand on the busy highway and prostitute themselves. They so desperately need to know that in Christ they are “enough” and they are loved. Tomorrow we will worship with 12 children who were rescued last year from the same brothel area … Yes, I said children. Love your wife tonight. Kiss your children and tell them they have value beyond their looks, weight, speed, height, etc. Encourage those around you today.
