When I read Kelly’s word for today (Luke 19:10), I thought, ‘Lord, You are so amazing!’ This is one of the scriptures He has been speaking with me on, specifically the word “save” or the Greek word, sozo.
Save:
Luke 9:56 For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.
Luke 19:10 …for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
When I looked up the word “save” in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible (Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1990), I discovered this:
Strong’s 4982 sozo from sos “safe”; to save, i.e. deliver or protect: heal, preserve, do well, be (make) whole.
I was excited to see that it was all inclusive: saved, delivered, protected, healed, preserved, and whole! Once you receive Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are complete. (Colossians 2:10) Jesus has done everything He is going to do in you. Your part is to agree with Him and get it manifested with Holy Spirit’s help.
Healed:
Mark 5:23b Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.
Acts 14:9 This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed…
Delivered:
Luke 8:36 They also who had seen it ( Jesus casting Legion into the swine.) told them by what means he who had been demon possessed was healed.
I think the main reason this has been rolling around in my mind is that it breaks my heart to see and hear of so many people sick, dying, oppressed, and addicted. What Jesus did was enough! He took all the gunk on Him so we could walk in freedom. Why can’t we just believe Him and take Him at His word? Either what Jesus did and said was enough, or not. You choose. Please know my heart, I love you all dearly and long for you to walk in the freedom Christ bought for you. Get with Holy Spirit and ask Him to help you see the truth and how to walk in it.
About 0400 I was lying there talking with Holy Spirit on sozo and I was talking with Him on how we don’t have any medicine in our house any more except some Tums. It was like the light turned on and I thought, those are out of here and when Ron and I took communion this morning, I told that heartburn to go and never come back. The Tums are in the trash.
Last year, Ron had a terrible health struggle, one of which was a torn lung. I won’t name the rest, but it wasn’t good and the doctor told him he didn’t want to give Ron false hope. At that point, something snapped in Ron and he said to the doctor, “I’m out of here. The Lord is my hope and my Healer.” The doctor told him basically that he would die if he didn’t get surgery. We prayed and took our authority (Luke 9:1,2) over his body, God’s temple, and he is healed!
When our boys were younger, one opened the door, not realizing his brother’s hand was there and rolled back the skin. We prayed and commanded it to be made normal and it was.
I used to smoke cigarettes, from age 15 to 36, and wanted to quit. I tried everything: patches, gum, cold turkey ….nothing worked. My friend Mary had told me how the Lord delivered her from smoking. I got with the Lord and said, “Lord, you delivered Mary from smoking and I need you to do that for me because I’ve tried everything and can’t do it and I need You to bring me to that place to make it like I never smoked.” He did! The next morning, I woke up and didn’t even think about smoking! I never had one withdrawal or craving and it has been 19 years! Praise Jesus! Wahoo!
Gabi and I were staying with friends last year and the boy dog, Simba had found the DCON rat poison and ate it. Teresa came home and it was bad…..Simba was dying. Brian and the rest of us arrived and Teresa told us that Simba was bleeding from both ends. That is when Brian checked and discovered the poison gone. Gabi layed hands on Simba and prayed for him and the rest of us agreed with her. Simba is a healthy, whole youthed dog to this day! Praise Jesus! He even heals our pets!
One time, I was running on a semi-rural road in the winter, when this creepy looking guy drove past really slow. I was really uneasy (Thank You, Lord for warnings.) and told the Lord, “If he turns around, I am outta here.” He turned around. I was wearing black running tights, black anorak, and black headband. I thought, “Crap, I am really going to stick out in this winter wonderland.” I spun around and started running close to the trees, when I felt something covering me around the back and a large fir tree branch was pulled low in front of me. He drove on by really slowly, shrugged and took off. My black clothes blended right in! Praise Jesus! He protected me.

Yes, bad things still happen, there are bad guys out there that mean us harm and we may not see all our healing manifest, but I truly believe that we are to walk in divine health.
SOZO: Saved, delivered, protected, healed, preserved and whole.
