Obama Prepares For Major Policy Address On ISIS

Obama (Illustrative)The US military continued to attack positions of the Islamic State (IS, formally ISIS) terror militia in northern Iraq on Wednesday, even as a resolution was proposed before the UN Security Council to require all countries to prevent the recruitment and transport of would-be foreign fighters preparing to join terrorist groups. The resolution would also mandate domestic laws in all 193 UN member states to punish citizens who travel or attempt to travel to another country to plan or carry out terrorist acts, as well as sanction individuals or groups who recruit or provide material support for individuals attempting to do so. The resolution, proposed by the US, is the centerpiece Washington’s focus on the threat from IS during its month-long term as the rotating president of the Security Council. Read More
