NM State Senator Bill Sharer of Farmington just told FGGAM News that he and 29 other Republican lawmakers plan on filing a lawsuit as early as this afternoon to stop the Dona Ana County Clerk from issuing same-sex marriage licenses. The County Clerk has issued at last report 82 same-sex marriage licenses to people from all over New Mexico.
Senator Sharer had this comment on the situation, “Another progressive declares himself dictator. 1st act: redefine marriage. Dona Ana County Clerk thinks he is above the law.”
