U.S. officials have confirmed the death of American journalist James Foley in a grisly video released Tuesday showing Islamic State militants beheading him. Let us pray for the family. A statement by Foley’s mother, Diane, posted on the “Find James Foley” Facebook page requested privacy “as we mourn and cherish Jim.”
“We have never been prouder of our son Jim. He gave his life trying to expose the world to the suffering of the Syrian people,” the message said. “We implore the kidnappers to spare the lives of the remaining hostages.
