Global Christian persecution on the rise

“Global persecution of Christians has gone from bad to worse, said U.S. Rep. Chris Smith.”[i]

When we hear of Christians being persecuted for their faith we are not surprised. The Bible warns us that we will be persecuted for our faith and reminds us that we should not marvel when it happens.[ii] In the last days Revelation prophecies that the “mother of harlots and abominations” will be drunk with the blood of the saints.[iii]

Christian persecution is on the rise and it being taking notice by some of our politicians like Rep. Chris Smith and Rand Paul who is warning of a “War on Christianity.”[iv] A study by the Pew Research Center Research Center found that Christians are most persecuted group among 110 countries.”[v]

We do not hear much coverage of the increasing Christian persecution around the world from the government or the main stream media. Could there be a reason? It seems our government considers Evangelicals as extremist and have been put Christians on the terrorist watch list.[vi]

The Pentagon come out and said that “proselytizing” the Christian faith is banned and could be charged with a court martial offense.[vii] Soldiers at Foot Hood in Texas were also warned to cut ties with Tea Party and Christian groups or face punishment.[viii]

It seems our government is involved in Christian persecution both at home and abroad working with Islamic terror groups and others in the name of world peace.[ix]

As the days get darker we must remember that the Light is on the way. The return of Jesus Christ. As we love one another and those that hate us the love of Christ will get brighter.

Matt 5:44-48

44        But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45        That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46        For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47        And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48        Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

(KJV)

[ii] I Jn 3:13 – Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. (KJV)

[iii] Rev 17:6 – And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. (KJV)
