Pray For America & Do Not Yield

Today is the 63rd Annual National Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is “One Voice, United in Prayer.” This year’s Honorary Chairman is Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham. As always, Shirley Dobson at the National Day of Prayer Task Force has done tremendous work making this event such a success.

This is a good time to remind ourselves of one of our nation’s founding principles — that our liberty comes from God, not government. If anyone is confused by that, check out the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence.

My good friend Dr. James Dobson made a few headlines at today’s National Day of Prayer event. As you may know, Dr. Dobson is involved in a lawsuit against Obamacare’s contraception mandate. Like many Americans, Dr. Dobson finds it morally repugnant to be forced to pay for drugs and services that terminate an innocent human life. He sued the administration and won the first round in court.

During his remarks today, Dr. Dobson blasted Obamacare’s “wicked regulations” and vowed to never yield on the sanctity of life.

Take heart from Dr. Dobson’s courage, my friends. Pray for our country and do not yield in the good fight for faith, family and freedom!

Don’t Be Evil

That’s the unofficial motto of tech giant Google. But Google executives evidently see a lot of wiggle room in that simple slogan. Google has been called out for enabling the communist Chinese police state and now it is trying to silence pro-life advocates.

Consider this excerpt from The Hill:

“Bowing to pressure from abortion-rights groups, Google is removing advertisements from its site for ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ that discourage people from having abortions. NARAL Pro-Choice America had pushed for Google to take down the ads… According to NARAL, people using Google to search for ‘abortion clinics’ got ads advertising the crisis centers about 79 percent of the time.”

How typical of the left. Whenever it starts losing in the marketplace of ideas or at the ballot box, its first instinct is to shutdown debate and silence its opponents. But wait … there’s more!

Several weeks ago, we told you about an effort at the FCC to investigate news outlets to ascertain their “news philosophy” and whether they were meeting the “critical information needs” of various communities. You can imagine where liberal bureaucrats would go with such a broad mandate. Thankfully there was such an outcry from the public that the FCC backed down.

But a liberal Massachusetts senator isn’t backing down. He’s pushing legislation that would have the government identify hate speech on the Internet, radio and TV and recommend ways to eliminate it. Now that might sound like a laudable goal, but who is going to decide what constitutes hate speech?

Believe it or not, reading one of Winston Churchill’s books on a street corner just got a British politician arrested. There are many leftists who consider advocacy of normal marriage to be “hate speech.” (More on that in the next item.)

One civil liberties lawyer blasted the hate speech proposal, saying, “This proposed legislation is worse than merely silly. It is dangerous. It is not up to … the federal government, to define for a free people what speech is, and is not, acceptable.”

My friends, let me say it again — the culture war is real. Conservative values are being forced into the proverbial closet. Men and women of faith must fight back!

Complain to Google. Change your search engine.

And then help us defend our values!

Irreplaceable

I want to tell you about an important documentary film that you should consider watching. “Irreplaceable” follows Tim Sisarich, formerly the executive director of Focus on the Family’s New Zealand office, as he tries to answer two crucial questions: “What is family?” and “Does family still matter in today’s society?”

Predictably, this family and faith-affirming film is being attacked by radical homosexual rights activists.  They are have labeled the film “anti-gay propaganda” and are pressuring theaters that had planned to show the film to back out.

One of the biggest canards of the left is that the conservative movement never says what it is for, but always complains about what it is against. Well, this film does not do that. It unapologetically makes the case for traditional families, including the importance of fathers. The left’s reaction is just another example of the tyrants of tolerance trying to shut down free and open debate.

“Irreplaceable” is screening in 700 theaters in cities across the country on one night only: Tuesday, May 6th at 7:30 p.m.  For more information, and to buy tickets, visit the “Irreplaceable” website at Irreplaceablethemovie.com. You won’t be disappointed.

After serving in the United States Navy for 22 years I retired from the service late in 1991. Having always loved the southwest, shortly after retiring, I moved to the Albuquerque area where I have resided since. Initially I worked as a contractor for approximately 6 years doing cable construction work. That becoming a little dangerous, at an elevated age, I moved into the retail store management environment managing convenience stores for roughly 16 years. With several disabilities, I am now fully retired and am getting more involved with helping Pastor Dewey & Pastor Paul with their operations at FGGAM which pleases my heart greatly as it truly is - "For God's Glory Alone". I met my precious wife Sandy here in Albuquerque and we have been extremely happily married for 18 years and I am the very proud father to Sandy's wonderful children, Tiana, our daughter, Ryan & Ross, our two sons, and proud grandparents to 5 wonderful grandchildren. We attend Christ Full Deliverance Ministries in Rio Rancho which is lead by Pastor's Marty & Paulette Cooper along with Elder Mable Lopez as regular members. Most of my time is now spent split between my family, my church & helping the Pastors by writing here on the FGGAM website and doing everything I can to support this fantastic ministry in the service of our Lord. Praise to GOD & GOD Bless to ALL! UPDATED 2021: Rick and Sandy moved to Florida a few years ago. We adore them and we pray for Rick as he misses Sandy so very, very much!
