Direction of the Arab Spring
Arab Spring protests (AFP)

We are now three years into the Arab Spring and the Middle East remains riven with conflicts and political turmoil. One of the worst hotspots now is in Iraq, where the militant group ISIS has been committing atrocities against Kurds, Shi’ites, Christians and even fellow Sunni Arabs as it terrorizes town after town. Their tactics have been so repulsive, even al-Qaeda has distanced itself from the ISIS. No doubt, the advances and tactics of these radical Islamic militias have most people in the Arab extremely worried. In fact, there is a growing backlash against Islamic extremists even among most Muslims in the region. The new military regime in Egypt also has shown rare contempt for some of the recent actions by Hamas in its costly war with Israel in Gaza. So where does the Arab Spring look to be heading at present? Will radical Muslim militias become the new rulers of the region? Or are most Arabs growing tired and disgusted by their jihadist tactics? And what impact will recent developments in the region have for Israel? Direction of the Arab Spring! That’s our main feature this week here on Front Page Jerusalem. We’ll take a look at the latest twists and turns in the three year-old wave of chaos and upheaval sweeping the Middle East. Will the radical Muslim militias carry the day or are most Arabs now rejecting this reactionary brand of Islam? Our special guest today answering these questions will be Dr. Juergen Buehler, the Executive Director of the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. Plus, in this week’s ICEJ Report, we’ll look at what the Christian Embassy has been doing to bring relief to Israelis under recent rocket fire from Gaza.

Our special guest today is Dr. Juergen Buehler, the Executive Director of the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem.

Update on the Gaza War!

It has now been over three weeks since the latest war between Israel and Hamas broke out along the Gaza border. The conflict has been very intense, with many twists and turns, and casualties mounting on both sides. And it seems the Gaza war is impacting the entire world, with people taking sides and staging protests far and wide. Now much of the media reporting on this conflict has once again been biased against Israel. For instance, journalists operating in Gaza have not been allowed to show Hamas firing rockets into Israel or using local civilians as human shields. Rather, they are told to only show the destruction of homes and the wounded coming into the hospitals. So what has truly been happening in this Israel-Hamas war? Are we being told the truth or force fed only what Hamas wants the world to see? What are the latest developments in this conflict? And what will likely be the outcome of this war? Update on the Gaza War! That’s our main feature next week here on Front Page Jerusalem. We’ll take a look at the latest developments in the month-old Israel-Hamas war. What are we not being told about this conflict and what will be its likely fallout? Next week’s update will be given by our own Front Page senior producer, David Parsons, a Middle East specialist who serves as media director for the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. Plus, in our Word From Zionsegment, we’ll look at how the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are forever linked, and why those who try to separate them are hopelessly wrong.
