Best of the Feast – Part II
Recently, thousands of Christians from around the world gathered in Jerusalem to mark the Feast of Tabernacles, in keeping with the prophetic vision of Zechariah 14:16. This annual celebration of the biblical festival of Sukkot is sponsored by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem. And this year’s Feast saw one of the best turnouts in years, despite the fact that Israel just faced an intense rocket war only a few weeks before. Now last week we brought you the addresses by top Israeli and Jewish leaders at the Feast celebration. This week, we’ll have biblical insights from one of the teaching sessions at the Feast, which was held under the theme of “Restoration.” So what exactly does the Bible have to say about Restoration in our day? How does it apply to modern-day Israel? And is restoration also promised for your church and even for your family and nation? The Best of the Feast – Part II! That’s our focus this week here on Front Page Jerusalem. We’ll bring you excerpts from the message delivered by the Christian Embassy’s executive director Dr. Juergen Buehler. He spoke on how the Church needs to undergo a paradigm shift in the way it relates to Israel in light of its modern-day restoration. Plus, we’ll also have a report from our Front Page team in Jerusalem on some worrying developments along Israel’s northern border.

Israel and the Fight for Freedom

The rise of radical Islam in modern times has presented a great challenge to the West, and threatens our rights and freedoms. The jihadists are bent on setting up a global caliphate and wiping out Judeo-Christian values along the way. Many Christians and Jews are starting to realize this danger, but it is alarming that so few Western leaders also see it and are courageous enough to stand up to this threat. Now one area where we can clearly see this battle playing out is in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel was recently forced to defend itself against incessant Hamas rocket attacks and yet it is the one who is under investigation by the United Nations for war crimes. Meanwhile, much of the region is in flames due to radical Islamic terror militias, who are committing brutal massacres and beheadings. And yet the world is afraid to confront it for the great evil that it is. Sadly, it looks like a replay of the rise of the Nazi menace all over again. So why is Israel being singled out for UN condemnation while the real sources of violence and evil in the region are ignored? Will Western leaders ever wake up to the dangers of radical Islam? And how can Christians and Jews work together to confront this threat to our values and way of life? Israel and the Fight for Freedom! That’s our focus next week here on Front Page Jerusalem. We’ll bring you excerpts from a recent message delivered by a leading Israeli scholar at the Feast of Tabernacles gathering in Jerusalem. A popular Israeli commentator, rabbi and author, Dr. Daniel Gordisspoke to a group of Christians from around the world about radical Islam’s great challenge to Western civilization.
