Attitudes that ought to be: The Beatitudes –By Karen Rowe, March 23, 2014

An attitude is the way we show how we think or feel about something.”

A beatitude is a pronouncement of some blessing or lasting happiness that will come to us when we allow God to shape our thinking and feeling.”

Beginning with the words, blessed or happy, Jesus teaches us the beatitudes of what I experience every day of my life that I give God the reins of control.  That is my self-control that is based  on/ in –My trust and faithful dedication to honoring God in all that I do, say or think!

Thinking is the beginning, so let us start there!

How do you think; what do you believe; and what are your values based upon?

God is so generous to give us HIS Word to stand upon!

YET, we do have to believe the Bible is God’s Word to read it.  And, we have to believe God is God to begin to allow God to mold our thinking and feeling, which both can emotionally and directly affect our attitudes!

Changed attitudes are good for everyone around, including our own self!  I believe about everyone can agree with that.  Certainly, everyone of us can relate to ill-attitudes…in one way or another; and hopefully after a changed heart in Christ with a smile on our face Today!

When God is pleased with our attitudes that ought to be, there is a special kind of happiness / peace & free flowing joy that we receive in Christ!  This peace and joy is our assurance that we can know we are blessed, because we can know that we are favored by God by the peace and joy that are found in HIM.

I am no different than you, I need Jesus every day to overcome my nature to flow in the grace of God.  I can’t do it alone; neither can you, but we can walk in the grace of God!  Everything begins when we believe Jesus died for our forgiveness on a personal level.  Oh, how He loved us!  Say your name right here.  “I believe Jesus died for me.”  “Oh, how God loves me!”

Do you know the 7 Most Important Things?  The first is to know that God loves you!  Then, to know Jesus never sinned, but we have.  Yet, #4 Jesus died for you and me.  #5 Now, Jesus lives.  #6 I choose to put my faith in Christ.  And #7  We can live for Him!  Thanks to CEF Ministries for this TOP 7 List (emphasis mine)!

Life with God is “not just laughter and pleasure when everything is going right.”

Life with God is also “peace and hope that bring joy even when times get hard.”

And, (spoken with the softest heart I know) …

our attitude will reflect our heart … possibly a very “hurt and feeling abandoned” heart … but I beg you to consider what you can’t understand and not shut God out…

Although, I just saw the movie trailer today,  God’s not dead, I believe this movie trailer expresses pain; and offers an opportunity to meet the true and living God again, or possibly for the first time, through believing in HIS Son Jesus Christ.

There is a supernatural joy in Jesus Christ that God has forgiven you of your sins for you; as yes, HE has also forgiven me of my sins for me; and has offered to all who will believe in His Son eternal life!  This knowledge will transform a mere human life & attitudes … by the power of the Holy Spirit!  The Holy Spirit will come to you when you first believe / confess / believe to obey the Word of God!

Humm… I suppose some may challenge my in depth meaning of believe, but if you believe Christ died and lives for you, then you will know HIS life that lives in you to obey the very Word you know to believe!  You know, I am listening to Come to Jesus on K-Love right now and I really believe that His very presence is near and calls us to believe…if we just will toss everything aside and just believe to live -We can trust God to cover it all.  All we have to do is fall on Jesus and live :)

Now that we have placed our faith in Jesus, our attitudes can begin to be shaped, molded and pruned by God –who lives in us by the power of the Holy Spirit!

How many beatitudes are there?  Looking at my Bible, I am counting 8.

Go to Matthew Chapter five and study with God in verses 3-12!  Today I am quoting some Today from an awesome Children’s Ministry Resource Bible (NKJV) & that is why I am sharing this Today with you, because the teaching from this Bible is so elementary and understood!  God’s Word is meant to be applied to our life –but first we need to know God’s perspective over our life.

Will you take the challenge and give God the reins of your life?  It is not a burden to come to Jesus, Rather an opportunity!  I highly recommend living according to God’s Holy Word!  Will you pick up your Bible to learn?

Perhaps this is a good stopping place until next time?

Sneak Peak:

Next Time:  I hope to share some insight in the 3rd Beatitude from a good life blessed in Christ!

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

But what does this mean?  And, what is God’s definition of meek?  “Being meek is far different from being weak.”!!!

I have taught this to my son for most of his 9 years of life; and in The Train Whistle, I compared the “Spinach Can” as strength to Pop Eye as God’s Word is to us … but we have to open and consume the contents!

I hope this inspires you to open your Bible Today too…& I hope you will join me again as I continue to learn and grow in Christ; as I hope you are growing with me as well.

I invite you to share your revelational thoughts as well… and yes, I believe you are one of God’s precious gifts to the Church … when you find your ministry in Christ Jesus living inside of your heart and soul in the power of the Holy Spirit!

I hope this is a blessing to you!  It sure has been a special privilege to me to share in my learning with you Today –I have been truly blessed.

Love in Christ,

Karen Rowe

Meet Karen: Hi, I am blessed, by God's good grace and because I know Jesus, I am blessed. I choose to be blessed, because I have a choice set before me and I refuse to look down. I trust God and I know and believe in the love God has for us. I have overcome difficulties; and I am blessed by the grace of God alone. If I have written about it, then I have felt the pain of it in some way, and to some degree. Did you know that Jesus has felt your pain? This is why I write. By God's grace I can identify; and tell you honestly, yes there is hope in anything and everything that you are facing today! Jesus is our Hope! He is the Truth, the Way and the Life. I am married a wonderful man, Robert Rowe; I love my husband and he loves me; and we have been married for 28 years. Together, we have been blessed with a wonderful daughter, named Amanda who is college now; and a wonderful son, named Daniel who is growing up well and soon to graduate elementary school. We work together and by God's grace we run our own business called PSI. We have a pastor over our ministry and over our business and also we depend on him for advise in our family. We have 2 dogs, 4 horses, 2 cats and love to spend time outdoors by the water and by campfires ... that is it seems when we can find time away from life's busy schedule. I love to write because it helps me learn more about God. And, I am driven by a passion from a love that God has put in my heart to share from my experiences and struggles, as I gain understanding in God’s Word to know how effective and powerful God is over our every situation! I share with you so you can know that you are not alone in your struggles. The same God who helps me and my family, is your help and shield as well! Life is not always easy, but it is possible –I like to share the difference that following Jesus makes in my life. And, I love to share God's patience and mercy and love that is with me! I am not perfect, but am experiencing God sanctify me through and through with every mistake I make; and yes, overcome in Christ! Life is not just about the successes; life on this earth is also about the troubles we overcome to discover what God has hidden in our faith to find! Troubles are more a challenge to grow in our faith ... It is not easy, but in the end the grace of God we discover is worth experiencing God in the midst. By Grace, I have discovered Jesus is Peace and He is my Joy and Wisdom from Heaven. God is our Provider and Healer and Creator, who is our help and shield over all things. By grace, I have experienced a nearness to God through my faith in His Son! We are well forgiven by God; and well blessed when we know and believe the love that God has for us. To say, "all is well with my soul" is a powerful knowledge to understand and experience. I sense God's desire for you to know His love for you and how deep His love for you is that He has SO loved you; God gave you His Son. God loves you right now just as you are! There is so much to learn! I believe that as we learn from God, we are God’s gift to each other. It is all God’s story –and for His glory; and God has SO loved us. I love to paint the vision that God has given me about a Father’s love –that God wants you to dream again and visualize His love for you! In God’s eyes, there’s more to life than we see; and in a world that sometimes misrepresents and misunderstands God and love; God wants you to have the courage to dream His dream and see His vision of a Father’s love for you! Many years ago, I prayed to God, “How can I tell a million people what I know about Your Son?” God showed me I had a gift of a ministry about God's Love; and He called it Hope in Today! I write to please God and I write to encourage you; and I write to spend quiet time with God. All because of this love that God has first shown me! I need Jesus –and my life is about my relationship with God. And, every blessing begins with Him! Love in Christ, Karen Rowe, Director Hope in Today Ministries, Inc.
