UPDATE: The Valencia County sheriff confirms a 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder in the death of a 12-year-old boy by blunt force trauma.
Brandon Villalobos of Meadow Lake is charged with first degree murder and tampering with evidence.
KOB.com is reporting that, the Valencia County sheriff confirms an arrest has been made in connection to the death of a 12-year-old boy found in a field on Tuesday night.
According to Sheriff Louis Burkhard, the boy’s body was found in an open field near Meadowlake Road off of Manzano View Road. The Office of the Medical Investigator is conducting an autopsy this morning.
The boy has been identified as Alex Madrid of Albuquerque.
Sheriff Louis Burkhard said Villalobos and Madrid were both friends and had been hanging out since Sunday.
Madrid was in Meadow Lake visiting family. His mom called police when she didn’t hear from him by Tuesday.
