Thank you Mercy Alarid for us allowing us to share your post! We love you and Pastor Brian!

Have you ever felt this way? A friend, a coworker, an acquaintance shares a painful trial they are going through and you find yourself talking and yet saying nothing? 10, 20, 30 minutes go by and nothing you say seems to help this person but you just keep talking because that is what you’ve always done…

I am coming to a point in my life when words seem cheap compared to the value of contrite prayer. I am convinced that we talk too much and pray too little. At least I know I DO. People do not need more words. They need friends who stick closer than a brother. Friends who will do away with pleasantries and pray at appropriate and inappropriate times… Desperate prayers, warring prayers, comforting prayers, prayers that move the heart of God and breathe courage into the heart of others.

Picture is from this past May at National Day of Prayer in Albuquerque at Civic Plaza!
