ALBUQUERQUE FORECAST
A vigorous low pressure system will cross New Mexico today and tonight. The associated cold front will pass through Albuquerque around mid to late afternoon. Strong south to southwest winds will develop ahead of the front then turn westerly with a sharp drop in temperatures behind the front. The air mass ahead of the front is dry and rain will mostly evaporate initially which will make the winds worse this afternoon. By tonight, the rain and snow will have a little better chance of reaching the ground.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory effective from 11 AM to 9 PM today. Contractors should be prepared to shut down operations quickly today.
Today: Southwest wind increasing to 30-35 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Increasing clouds with a chance of thunderstorms and brief light showers. Highs 62-65.
Tonight: Wind decreasing to 10-20 mph. Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers. Lows 30-34.
Friday: Northwest wind 20-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Partly cloudy. Highs 63-66.
This forecast is being sent as a public service to area contractors and businesses that must comply with Albuquerque-Bernalillo County’s fugitive dust regulation.
