Standing for Life in all Aspects

This morning, after I had rested last night from such a busy but blessed weekend serving Our Lord, I was listening again to my sister and friend Laura Rosecrans read her blog she posted August 28th:

As she was reading it I started to reflect and pray. Before I start sharing in to the insight I got from this, let me again reflect on this past weekend.

Saturday morning was the Walk For Life for Care Net Pregnancy Centers. (www.carenetabq.org) We raised money for them to continue doing what they are called to do, serving families who have unexpected pregnancies. I stated before that many who are in this situation, may be struggling financially, being advised that they may not be the best parents, their child may not have the quality of life they deserve, etc., so, they are advised or consider abortion.

I thought about this, abortion is clearly an act that is so gruesome that even the clinicians and others who participate in it, try to cover it up and hide the details. They seem that they are in this more for the money than for really helping these families. You may ask why I say that, look at the cases where they were questioning the leaders about selling baby parts. Like they are product and not a human. They are not so concerned about how the women and families deal with the trauma for years after.

Sunday Afternoon/Night, I was invited to lead the prayer for Victoria Martens Candlelight Vigil. I was honored to be considered for this.

We celebrated this beautiful child’s short life. She was only 10 years old when she was brutally murdered. They talked about how she was injected with Meth, raped, stabbed, her limbs removed from her body and then wrapped in plastic and set a fire in a bathtub. Many have described this as the most evil act that can ever be committed.

Starting my reflection from what I heard from Laura, it came as a realization that this whole weekend was about celebrating life. I am not just talking about life in the physical sense, although that is what is easy for us to do since it is right in front of us, but I am talking about life in the Spiritual sense as well.

This past weekend, our Brother Pastor Dewey Moede had the opportunity to go back to his home town to do a Revival. This past weekend there was also a Tent Revival done at a local church that lasted for 5 days. We did our monthly Hip Hop Revival. All these were about reaching the lost for the Kingdom.

Saturday night, which is the only one of all these I witnessed, we did our altar call, and I could see that there were some who were not sure about responding but God was working in their hearts. One gentleman came up to me afterwards and told me, “I am a skeptical person. It takes a lot to convince me but you did a good job in changing my mind. I invited him to church the next morning and he attended. During our altar call at church, he surrendered to Jesus!

I want to share the part of Laura’s blog that made me to start to think (shared with permission):

“I will not diminish what happened to little Victoria – never ever…but let me ask you this – where is the pain and grief for the countless of live babies that are murdered every day and torn apart limb for limb while still ALIVE in their mother’s womb?

Where are the memorial services for THESE children that everyday die at the hands of Planned Parenthood in Albuquerque, UNM’s Abortion Clinic and Butcher Shop – Southwestern Women’s Options owned by Curtis Boyd?

Where are the cries of outrage when it becomes public that Paul Roth and Richard Larson – heads of UNM Health Science Center – knowingly gave human baby brains to be dissected at a summer camp just for fun?

Why is it a tragedy when a child is brutally murdered outside of the womb and yet when children in the womb are brutally murdered – “It’s all ok” and business as usual?

Where are the teddy bears, the flowers and the memorials that should be lining the outside of the abortion clinics in New Mexico EVERY SINGLE DAY for the babies that are dismembered on a daily basis and sometimes left to die on a table when born alive by botched abortions? Why are their lives less important just because they are still in the womb? We should be mourning the death of EVERY CHILD that dies daily in this state.”

WARNING: This next part is purely speculation. It was a reflection I came up with. In no way shape or form am I saying that I am speaking for God. I know that this may cause some controversy with some but understand, this is speculation and for reflection.

As I was listening to Laura reading her blog again and as I was reflecting on this past weekend, I wondered if God was trying to show us something with Victoria’s gruesome murder.

  1. She was injected with Meth. Many Mothers and Fathers are suffering from some sort of addiction. They tend to be under the influence of whatever drug they are using, when the child is conceived. Many of them may panic in the realization of this pregnancy and decide:A. That that they will carry the child to full term but not let go of their addiction. The child is then born and have to be detoxed or even struggle with disabilities throughout their life.B. Due to ill counsel, decide to abort the child
  2. She was brutally raped. This is becoming more and more a problem in our society. Many are raped and do not feel like they have a voice. They feel like no one will listen to them They feel that they are the ones at fault. If pregnancy occurs, they choose abortion thinking it will help them to heal. What they learn later is it just caused more pain.
  3. She was stabbed and her limbs removed from her body. Do you realize that in abortions these are some of the procedures they use to kill the baby in the womb? Do you realize that in order to abort the child, they have to commit murder?
  4. She was wrapped in plastic. Abortion clinics take the fetus and literally throw them away as if they are garbage. They don’t want you or anyone else to think that was a human life.
  5. She was burned. Many abortion clinics will “dispose of the fetus” in a furnace. Again to remove the remains of what they did. Many also use chemicals to kill that child. These chemicals burn the fetus or worse yet, their brain. Some of them still end up being born and have disabilities, now, thanks to the botched abortion. Or, they are just left on the table to die.

Here’s my thoughts, again, this is speculation. Did God allow this tragedy to happen to Victoria Martens to show us what an abortion would be like? Did He allow this to happen to help us wake up and see the work that needs to be done, not just with stopping abortions, but to protect those precious children that are being abused? Did He allow this to happen to show us how lost we are without Him?

Until Next Time:

Ezekiel 37:1-14 (NKJV):

37 The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’”
