Are You Sold Out?

Good morning Beautiful People, I am so wired once again. I just had to share. This dear lady named Peggy has been leading a Bible Study Not A Fan by Kyle Idelman at the ministry of Transformations, here in the star city of Presque Isle, Maine. Wow, is it ever rocking my boat. A friend had told me about it and thought I should consider attending. Of course it has been really over the top good. Being a follower of Jesus is so much more than going to church, doing the right things, etc. It is so much more. It costs you to be a follower of Jesus. What has it cost you? Have you ever asked yourself that question?

Last week, I saw a post by W. Terry Whalin about the book he wrote and published on Billy Graham, America’s Greatest Evangelist. Immediately my mind went back to when my brother had taken me to one of his meetings in Hartford, Ct. I remembered during the service up on the balcony a sign was draped down with something written on it. The protestors were trying to disrupt the meeting, but it never happened. Dr. Billy Graham never missed a beat and they were escorted out. He preached with a voice and a heart that drew the attention of his audience. It was one meeting, I will never forget. I laugh at myself when I remember the offering being taken to help defray the costs of such meetings. When they passed the white buckets that resembled Kentucky Fried Chicken buckets, I wondered how they got the Kentucky Fried Chicken label off. I laugh even harder today, because I was so serious thinking that. I thought I had been around 12 or 13 at the time, but now I think I was much younger. Many, many people gave their hearts to the Lord at that meeting. I think my brother and I left as people gathered at the front, to beat the traffic. He was a Christian already and I had given my life to the Lord as a child, but was not a sold out follower of Jesus. Maybe at that time I would call myself a bit of a fan of Jesus. Maybe knew about him, prayed a prayer, but didn’t really walk with Him. Hmmm- still pondering those years. Today, I can tell you I am a follower of Jesus. Not only am I a follower, but I am sold out.

Today, I just need to ask you, where are you in your walk with God? Has your life been transformed? Are you a fan of Jesus? Are you a follower of Jesus? Are you sold out?

Can we go a bit deeper? When is the last time you heard his voice? Did you obey? Did it cost you anything? What is He saying today? Do you have a God given assignment? If so what is it? Step out, walk with Jesus. The journey may not be easy, it may even be scary at times. Are you willing to take the risk?

Journeying with Jesus on the narrow path, there’s no better way. Matthew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
