We have been talking about what we will be remembered for…..what will be our legacy? This morning I want to tell you more about the love of Jesus and the love story of Laurie and Frank Vock. Laurie passed away on Saturday October 10th in Windom, Minnesota, which is my hometown. Sharon and I last visited with them 3 years ago when we were back home. I attended school with them. I saw their true, Godly love for each other. Last night I got a note from Laurie’s brother, Rodney Byam, which further tells us the love that Laurie and Frank shared together, at the same time being such an outstanding testimony to us all about the love of Jesus Christ.
The Greatest Commandment
Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37
In Matthew 22:39.And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
John 1: 41-42…The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon. And he brought him to Jesus.
Love is a beautiful thing… “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” ….and they danced until Laurie went to Heaven. Love
