The 3rd annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children was held in Rio Rancho, New Mexico at  St. Vianney Catholic Church and was sponsored by The HUB of New Mexico, For God’s Glory Alone Ministries, Albuquerque Right to Life, Surrendered Hearts Abortion Recovery New Mexico, Pro-Life Witness and Protest ABQ.

Around 70 people gathered to remember and mourn the millions of babies lost to abortion in America since 1973.

Several clergy from the Christian Faith Community as well as representatives from the sponsoring organizations spoke and offered prayers. The mood was somber as we reflected upon the tragedy of so many lives lost. It is events like these in particular where we are profoundly reminded of how abortion effects all of us. Abortion changes people, it corrupts leaders and shames communities, but the ultimate victim is the pre-born child.

“We will never know these unnamed victims of abortion, but we will never forget them—or stop fighting to restore legal protection to unborn children,” stated Tara Shaver, Protest ABQ.

A theme that was consistent at this event was that we all need to do more to be a voice for these babies who are created in the image of the living God. We must be resolved more than ever in this culture of death to hold leaders and aspiring leaders accountable and we must not relent from peaceful protest until the killing ends. If we do not rise up, who will?
