State Senator Michael Sanchez Rules New Mexico

Michael Sanchez for MarchGov Martinez SOS 2After the New Mexico Legislative session ended yesterday I felt so bad for God’s people. The failure of the Legislature to do the people’s business really hit home. You might say, State Senator Michael Sanchez rules New Mexico.  With the Senate not even willing to hear the two pro-life bills on the floor, to stop late term abortion and to require parent notification. It seems year after year, Senate Majority Leader Sanchez dictates what happens, if he doesn’t like it, it does not see the light of day. Sanchez appears to have more power than Governor Martinez. I have lived here in New Mexico since 1995, I have always been saddened by New Mexico politics. I have been in the news business nearly 40 years, first in Minnesota at the state news network, then Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Indiana and then then New Mexico. I have never seen quite the mess that New Mexico is in with a dysfunctional Legislature, where year after year the people’s business does not get done. Republicans got excited that things would change as they won the House, but not much did as they still had to deal with Michael Sanchez. Governor Martinez has made no difference in the way things are done in Santa Fe, she to has to deal with Sanchez, but seems to have no relationship with him at all. New Mexico is going backwards under Sanchez and Martinez, not forwards, just look all the stats up. So many young people moving out of our state because they cannot find jobs here, they see no future in New Mexico. What is the future of New Mexico? The economy is in the dumps, education continues to fail. We will continue to kill babies in the state, late term abortions continue, women traveling from overseas for late term abortions in Albuquerque,  14 year olds from Kansas getting abortions without parents approval, you cannot continue to do this and not face the wrath of God. I probably lost many of you with that last statement, as people do not like to talk about the wrath of God…….but it is biblical. Where does God fit into the New Mexico legislature?

Henry Blackaby wrote this on the love and wrath of God: God’s kind of love always seeks His best for each person. If we reject His best, He will discipline us. However the discipline will come from a heavenly Father who loves us and who will do whatever is necessary to bring us to a place in our lives where we can receive what He wants to give us. Read Hebrews 12: 5-11.

God does bring disciple, judgement, and wrath on those who continue to live in sin and rebellion against Him. Even this discipline, though is based on love. “For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and punishes every son whom He receives” Hebrews 12:6

The headlines in the Albuquerque Journal this morning were screaming about the failure to pass the $264 million public works package and tax breaks.

I HEAR THE SCREAMING OF BABIES BEING KILLED!

Some how all these folks in the Legislature and Sanchez and Martinez are going to have to find a way to work together, or we will continue to see the same results. Sanchez and Martinez are not going anywhere, so it will have to happen, I pray it does. Both are Catholic, I pray they both submit themselves to the Catholic Bishops of our state and seek peace and understanding before God.

Only God can fix these problems, not man…….look at the mess we have made! Lord have mercy!

We used to post the Ten Commandments in Churches, and Sunday School rooms and at our State Capitals, public offices, public schools………can’t find the Ten Commandments posted hardly anymore, anywhere! Even Churches won’t post them, I guess they are afraid that it does not “fit” the American Church, the American secular society! But here is a reminder…………..the 6th Commandment is: Thou Shall not kill.

When is the last time you looked at the Ten Commandments???………just asking……
