We all have seen them. Maybe, they are someone in your family. The person(s) who don’t know anything more than being addicted.

They are the ones who, when you go downtown, often times find passed out in the middle of the road because they have too much alcohol/drugs or a combination of both in them.

They are the ones that as soon as they get money, go down to the corner store and buy alcohol.

They are unable to keep a job because the employers they work with let them go for being under the influence of something and do not want to have the liability.

They are the ones who steal to get their fix.

They are the ones who exchange sex for drugs/money or something else.

I recently encountered someone, who held a job for many years and then found himself homeless. He has not been able to maintain a job for the last 2 years. When talking to him, he said it was because the alcohol has a grip on him.

I am here to tell you that there is something better than to bury your sorrows in a bottle, with a needle, pulling on the “One Arm Bandit” at the casinos, better than that naked woman or guy, better than any video game you can imagine. I am here to tell you that you do not have to sink into any state of mind because you are so consumed with something that hinders you from taking care of yourself or your family.

Are you ready? That something is not something but someone. That someone is Jesus Christ Himself. Do you suffer from an addiction, been told you do or know someone who does? Call us, Cross Christian Fellowship, Rt. 66, (505) 369-4989 or U-turn For Christ Ministries (505)217-6888. We are here to help you. There is hope and you can find it now.

Until next time:

Ezekiel 37:1-6 (NKJV): The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”’”
