Peter Cried Out, “Never, Lord! This Shall Never Happen To You!”

Silhouettes of Three CrossesDear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Praise God that I can be here with you another day!

May God Bless you and yours forever and ever!

Once when Jesus told His disciples that He would suffer and die, Peter cried out, “Never, Lord! This shall never happen to you!” Matt. 16:22. No doubt he spoke for the twelve. If I had walked with Jesus then, Peter would have spoken for me as well. But Jesus sharply rebuked Peter. He would not be turned aside from His mission. Luke wrote, “As the time approached for Him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem” Luke 9:51.

Every day of His adult life stretched out ahead of Him like a narrow road. More than anyone else He knew that the script for His life had already been written across the pages of the Old Testament.  As He made His way toward Golgotha, with every step He knew—–detail for detail, agony by agony—-how it would end and what it would cost.

Amen and Amen!

Palm SundayAs we prepare for Palm Sunday, which is this Sunday, Passover begins on Monday at sunset,  Good Friday is next Friday and then comes Resurrection Sunday on April 20th, we have this from Billy Graham: When in Eastern Europe years ago,
I discovered that Christians there
often greeted each other with the phrase,
“Christ is risen!” Invariably the response
came back, “He is risen indeed!” I was
struck with their understanding of the
reality and excitement of the resurrection,
for “if Christ has not been raised …
we are of all people most to be pitied”
(1 Corinthians 15:17, 19).

When I picture Jesus Christ dying on
the cross, I see the free gift of God’s
grace in Christ reconciling to Himself all
those who believe and repent. Grace occurs
when something we don’t deserve is given
to us freely. It is the free gift of God to needy
men and women. Paul said, “God made him
[Christ] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in
him we might become the righteousness of God”
(2 Corinthians 5:21). When Christ bore our
sin on the cross, He created a value of grace
and righteousness that changes the lives of
men and women, and it still works today!
The truth “that Christ died for our sins according
to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3), and that
truth alone, has relevance to mankind today.
That is because there is saving power in Christ’s
cross to transform any life and to
change the world.
How has the gift of
God’s grace changed
your life? Will you
share your story this
week so that someone
you know can be made alive in Christ?

GOD ANSWERS PRAYER

I LOVE YOUTH! These next two stories will touch you greatly…….

As we prepare for Resurrection Sunday I found this story to have the message of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to serve not to be served. I pray that this story inspires you! Cayden Taipalus, 8, decided to take action. The third grader at Challenger Elementary School in Howell, Michigan saw a friend forced to give up his hot lunch because his account balance was overdue; Taipalus decided to make a change and pay off the account balances for all the students at his school.

Cayden came home upset when his friend was forced to give up his hot lunch simply because his account was overdue. He came home and told his mother about the situation and decided he wanted to help his friend and all those who were forced to go without a hot lunch. Together they returned empty bottles and cans and asked for donations from family and friends.

The story grew thanks to a local radio station, and the donations then poured in from the city, state, country, and even abroad. Each one helped pay for a student’s hot lunch, which made Cayden extremely grateful and excited.lunch balances

Not only has Cayden paid off the accounts at his own school, but with the money he’s raised, he’s been able to visit five schools to pay off lunch accounts for students he didn’t even know. According to a fundraising website, Cayden has paid for over 4,000 reduced lunches for students with the $14,110 he’s raised. Cayden has a goal of raising $15,000 and continuing to help others get a hot lunch.

heart-lightLet us pray over this situation. We pray for the softening of hearts, as we approach Resurrection Sunday, I pray that stories like this will lead more people to stand up for the love of Jesus, to feel the true love of our Lord, Amen! The parents of a first grader are suing a Pennsylvania school district, accusing it of violating their son’s constitutional rights when a teacher forbade him from distributing Valentine’s Day cards containing a religious message to his classmates.

Donald and Ellen Abramo filed a lawsuit in federal court Monday on behalf of their son, identified in legal documents as “J.A.,” against the Nazareth Area School District in Northampton County, Pa. The lawsuit alleges that J.A.’s constitutional rights were violated by a first grade teacher at Shafer Elementary School in Nazareth during a class “Friendship Day” party on Feb. 19, when the young boy attempted to pass out Valentine’s Day cards to his fellow classmates.

The school’s policy banning candy in class caused J.A. and his siblings to create Valentine’s Day cards with the message of St. Valentine written on the piece of paper. The message read: “Happy Valentine’s Day! St. Valentine was imprisoned and martyred for presiding over marriages and for spreading the news of God’s love. In honor of St. Valentine’s Day, I want you to know that God loves you!!!” It also included a reference to John 3:16, according to the lawsuit.

When J.A.’s teacher spotted the religious message on the cards, she reportedly brought the issue to the attention of the principal. She then removed the religious notes from J.A.’s Valentine’s Day cards, and the school principal later told the Abramo family that religious messages could not be distributed on campus during school hours.

The suit says that one of the boy’s siblings was able to hand out the cards to his third grade class because the teacher failed to notice the religious notes attached to each card.

Let us cover all in our prayers.
