State of Emergency Declared by New Mexico Governor Martinez

New Mexico Governort or c Susana Martinez has declared a state of emergency because of all the flooding caused by heavy rains in the state.

“Through this Executive Order, I have directed state government resources to ensure the safety and well being of everyone affected by these heavy storms,” Governor Martinez said. “As the heavy rains continue, I encourage all New Mexicans to continue to pay attention to your local weather forecast and be aware of warnings wherever you are.”

KOB TV IS REPORTING:

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Rio Grande river, affecting Bernalillo and Valencia counties.

As of 2:15 Friday afternoon the river was at five feet. The current forecast calls for the river to approach flood levels, which is eight feet, sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
